Adoption Requirements

• Colorado Residency

• Property minimum 1 acre per horse

• Weather protected shelter (barn, lean-to, etc.- minimum of 3 sides)

• Sturdy, safe fencing – NO barbed wired

• Access to clean, unfrozen water at all times

• Adequate quantity of clean, non-moldy hay and mineral supplements

• Horses will not live alone. They must have another horse companion for a horse, a mini for a mini and a donkey for a donkey.

• Must have an established relationship with veterinarian

• Must have an established relationship with a farrier

• Must provide hay supplier information

• Must have proof of long-term lease or proof of ownership of property

• Cost of Adoption Fee varies by individual horse
